June 23, 2026 — Colegio de San Juan de Letran successfully underwent the Joint Monitoring and Evaluation of its Bachelor of Science in Food Technology Program conducted by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) and the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) on June 23, 2026.
The evaluation was led by Hon. Anthony C. Sales, PFT, CESO III, Chairperson of the Professional Regulatory Board (PRB) of Food Technology, together with Hon. Mary Grace R. Mandigma, PFT, Member of the PRB of Food Technology; Dr. Dennis Marvin O. Santiago, PFT, Member of the CHED Technical Panel for Food Technology; and Ms. Merly Gabin, PRC-NCR Representative.
The delegation was welcomed by Prof. Danilo K. Villena, Ph.D., Vice President for Academic Affairs, who emphasized the Colegio's commitment to academic excellence, quality assurance, and continuous program improvement.
Representing Letran during the inspection were Asst. Prof. Sheena Marie L. Napata, PFT, MSFS, Chairperson of the BS Food Technology Program, and Asst. Prof. John Carlo Timajo, MBA, Assistant Dean of the College of Business Administration and Accountancy. They were assisted by Inst. Ma. Theresa C. Alcantara, PFT, Faculty Member of the Food Technology Area, and Ms. Kathleen Magno, Laboratory Head.
The monitoring and evaluation covered the program’s academic offerings, laboratory facilities, faculty qualifications, and compliance with the standards and requirements governing the Food Technology profession.
Following the inspection, the PRC-PRB Food Technology evaluation team concluded that Colegio de San Juan de Letran is substantially compliant with the policies, standards, and requirements for the offering of the BS Food Technology Program and the conditions required in the practice of the profession.
The favorable evaluation shows Letran’s capacity to delivering quality Food Technology education and preparing future Letranites equipped with the knowledge, skills, and competencies needed to contribute to the food industry and the advancement of the profession.
