Following the formal signing of the Memorandum of Agreement between Colegio de San Juan de Letran - Manila, Colegio de San Juan de Letran - Bataan, and Unilab Education, Letran officials recently visited the UniEd Head Office in Mandaluyong City for a strategic implementation of projects focused on advancing industry-driven education, workforce readiness, and continuing professional development initiatives for Letranites.
Under the agreement, UniEd expressed its commitment to support continuing education opportunities for both current Letran students and alumni through industry certifications, microcredentialing, upskilling programs, and other skills-based learning initiatives aligned with workforce demands. The partnership likewise includes support for the enhancement and development of learning facilities related to the identified academic programs.
UniEd President Atty. Jose Maria A. Ochave formally welcomed the Letran delegation and presented the four major pillars of the Unilab Group: Unilab, recognized as one of the largest pharmaceutical groups in ASEAN; Animal Health, a leading animal health company; Service, which includes its hospital chain and extensive network of industrial clinics; and Education, the organization’s newest pillar dedicated to demand-driven and industry-responsive learning.
The discussion highlighted UniEd’s academic focus areas, including STEM, Accounting, Food Technology, and Nutrition and Dietetics, alongside key educational priorities such as developing career pathways, promoting microcredentialing and shorter learning courses, supporting skills-based education, and helping remove the stigma surrounding technical-vocational programs.
Also explored during the meeting were opportunities related to apprenticeship and on-the-job training, senior high school immersion, alumni certifications, and lifelong learning pathways intended to benefit both current students and graduates of the Colegio.
Joining the meeting were Prof. Elyxzur Ramos, Ph.D., CESE, Member of the Letran Board of Trustees, Dr. Noel Cortez, COO, Unilab Education, and Mr. Rene Ledesma.

Bejay Namuag, O.P., Vice President for Financial Affairs; Prof. Danilo K. Villena, Ph.D., Vice President for Academic Affairs; AP John Carlo Timajo, MBA, CBAA Assistant Dean; AP Joy Chavez, MAT, Executive Assistant; and AP Carlo Macasero, MBA, Director of the Alumni and Public Relations Department.
Also present were top officials from Colegio de San Juan de Letran - Bataan led by Rev. Fr. Reynor E. Munsayac, O.P., Executive Vice President, and Rev. Fr. Jesus M. Miranda, Jr., O.P., Ph.D., Vice President for Academic Affairs, together with Engr. Hazel Nisay, College Dean, Ms. Cyndi Samaniego, IBED Principal.
The partnership signifies the shared commitment of Letran and UniEd in bridging academe and industry through programs designed to equip Letranites with relevant competencies and prepare graduates for the evolving demands of the workforce.
