Letran Faculty Showcases Research in Robotics and Control Engineering at International Conferences Engr. Christian Arnel Alcantara and his research achievements

The Research and Publication Department proudly congratulates Engr. Christian Arnel Alcantara, a faculty member of the College of Engineering and Information Technology, for his active participation in two prestigious international conferences, where he presented his research contributions in the fields of smart systems, robotics, and control engineering.

Engr. Alcantara first represented the institution at the 2026 10th International Conference on Robotics, Control and Automation (ICRCA 2026), held from March 28 to 30, 2026, at Osaka University in Japan. During the conference, he presented his paper titled “IoT-Enabled Smart Laboratory System for Safety and Energy Optimization in Academic Environments.” His study highlights the integration of Internet of Things (IoT) technologies in developing intelligent laboratory systems that enhance safety protocols while promoting efficient energy utilization within academic institutions. This work underscores the growing role of IoT in creating responsive and sustainable learning environments.

Continuing his international research engagement, Engr. Alcantara also presented at the 2026 12th International Conference on Electrical Engineering, Control and Robotics (EERC 2026), held from April 6 to 8, 2026, at Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University in Suzhou, China. In this conference, he presented his paper titled “Development and Validation of an LQR-Optimized State-Feedback Controller for DC Motor Position Control.” His research introduces an advanced control strategy utilizing Linear Quadratic Regulator (LQR) techniques, aimed at improving the precision, responsiveness, and stability of DC motor systems; an essential component in various automated and robotic applications. The study contributes to the ongoing development of more efficient and reliable control mechanisms in modern engineering systems.

Through his participation in these international platforms, Engr. Alcantara demonstrates a strong commitment to advancing research, innovation, and academic excellence. His work not only contributes to the expanding body of knowledge in smart technologies and control systems but also reflects the Colegio's dedication to fostering globally competitive research and collaboration.

These achievements further strengthen the institution’s presence in the international research community, highlighting the caliber and capability of its faculty in contributing meaningful solutions to contemporary engineering challenges.
