Letran Hosts GenAI Citizenship Orientation for Senior High School Students Representatives from Techedify engage Senior High School students during the GenAI Citizenship course preview at the Colegio.

The Research and Publication Department, in collaboration with the Senior High School Department, successfully hosted the GenAI Citizenship: Student Orientation and Course Preview at the S.C. Auditorium, in partnership with Techedify.

The program formally opened with remarks from the Colegio’s Vice President for Academic Affairs, Prof. Danilo K. Villena, Ph.D., who emphasized the importance of digital responsibility and innovation in preparing students for an AI-driven future. The session gathered Senior High School students for an engaging orientation on generative artificial intelligence (GenAI), emphasizing its responsible and ethical use in both academic and real-world contexts. Guest speakers from Techedify — Mr. Sammuel P. Sanclaria, Department Head for Product Development, and Ms. Shamane Tripolca, Head of Operations, PH — shared insights on the rapidly evolving AI landscape. They highlighted the importance of becoming responsible GenAI citizens: individuals who are not only skilled in using generative AI tools but also guided by integrity, accountability, and critical thinking.

Letranites were formally introduced to the GenAI Citizenship micro-credential, an industry-aligned course designed to develop practical, future-ready competencies in artificial intelligence. The course preview outlined key learning outcomes, real-world applications, and how the micro-credential complements academic preparation for higher education and the workforce.

Through initiatives such as this, the Colegio continues to advance innovation, digital literacy, and the formation of ethically grounded, future-ready learners.
