Dean Asano was awarded Most Requested Certified Management Accountant Instructor.

Letran’s College of Business Administration (CBAA) earned due recognition last December for its untiring and excelling efforts in promoting and developing Certified Management Accountants (CMA), as well as the programs that support it.

The awarding was held last December 22 at the Rigodon Hall at the Manila Hotel.

The CBAA was given a plaque of recognition by the Insights Financial Review Services, Inc., a review center that helps CMA exam takers –working professionals and student graduates alike – to level up their knowledge to a global standard, for being a strong partner in the furthering of the CMA program, as well as producing top-notch CMA qualified accounting professionals.

An award was also given by the Wiley CMAexcel Gold Study Course for Letran’s dedicated support and advancement of the US CMA Certification course. Wiley is an IMA-approved provider that releases resources to schools that have CMA-integrated curricula, which are up to recognized global standards. Letran has been using Wiley resources ever since it has been active in nurturing its CMA-qualified students and graduates.

“In the three testings windows of the CMA examinations last year, we consistently produced passers,” said Asst. Prof. Kenji Asano, the dean of the CBAA. “Our average is in the 60-70% while the global average is 40-50%.”

In addition to the two plaques, Insights Financial Review Services, Inc. also recognized Asano as the Most Requested Certified Management Accountant Instructor, as voted upon by his co-CMA instructors.

He is currently the appointed Philippines’ Southeast Asia Ambassador for CMA. He was tasked by the Institute of Management Accountants, whose headquarters are in Singapore.

“It makes me proud. [With me] carrying the name of Letran as the dean of CBAA, [the recognition] makes [the CBAA] at least a center of focus, an apple of the eye. [It means] that our faculty are high caliber in terms of accounting.”

CMA is an international certification that is accredited in over 100 countries, which covers accounting and finance, and much more. It is one of the preferred certifications for Filipinos, in addition to the Certified Public Accountant certification.
