Letran inks deal with IT Works, becomes a Certiport certification center

Letran is now a Certiport Authorized Testing Center.
Formalized during a simple event last June 9 at the Balagtas Hall, the Colegio, represented by its rector and president, Rev. Fr. Clarence Marquez, OP, signed a Memorandum of Agreement with Felix Christopher Alegre III of Innovative Training Works Inc., granting Letran the capacity to administer Certiport certification exams and assessment tests.
I.T. Works is a company (authorized by Certiport) that provides IT education and training services founded in 1993. Its mission is “empowering people through IT education and innovative training for world-class productivity.” It is the sole distributor partner of Certiport for the Internet and Computing Core Certifications, Microsoft Office Specialist, Microsoft Technical Associate, and Adobe Certified Associate programs.
Certiport, Inc. is based in Utah, USA and is a prime organization in performance-based certification exams and practice test solutions for academic institutions, workforce, and corporate technology markets. It has a worldwide network of Authorized Testing facilities and currently gives out more than three million certification exams each year.
Back in 2003, Letran became the first school in the country to partner with Microsoft for the Microsoft IT Academy program. In 2012, the school gave further attention to information technology by partnering with Microsoft Philippines in boosting its program through Microsoft certifications. It is part of Letran’s vision of becoming a leading center in information and communications technology.
